- Blue Star father to oldest son, Jack, who is following in his father's footsteps and is currently serving in the USMC at Kaneohe Marine Corps Base in Hawaii.
- Lifetime Member of the VFW, Post 791 of Yankton, SD. Also a very active member in Post 558 of the los Altos American Legion, 1st Silicon Valley, Marine Corps League, Viet Nam Veterans of America, the Forty and Eight organization, Navy League of Santa Clara Valley and has close associations with all the local active duty military units. He participates in the Toys For Tots program each Christmas helping the San Jose Marine Corps Reserve unit meet their goals with the help of his Boy Scout Troop and American Legion post. Mike will continue to support and serve active duty and reserve military units, former military, the children of those military personnel and all local youth to promote fitness, character and citizenship. Mike spends hundreds of hours yearly in various Boy Scout volunteer positions.
Alex Civick

Alex Civick is currently employed by Google as a program manager responsible for protecting user data security and ensuring compliance with local, federal, and international laws and regulations governing the use of such data. He is also a member of Google's internal veteran support network, VetNet, and participated in recent events supporting veterans, such as Help a Hero Get Hired - a resume writing workshop that helps veterans translate their military experience into civilian terms so that they can more easily transition into civilian life.
Prior to joining Google, he worked in similar compliance and audit roles for several financial services companies. While not a veteran himself, he supports the interests of veterans from all military eras, and is particularly sensitive to the needs and wants of younger veterans that return home with physical, mental, and/or psychological conditions, including traumatic brain injury, military sexual trauma, and PTSD.
